Project Nippon

Takuya Matsutani promotes global innovation by fostering collaboration between large companies and startups. He founded Project Nippon in 2013 to build a database of over 200,000 entrepreneurial-minded people. In 2014, Matsutani launched the Innovation Leaders Summit (ILS), which has grown to become the largest open-innovation event in Asia. ILS 2016 welcomed 5,510 participants.

Prior to Project Nippon, Matsutani launched the Dreamgate Project, an entrepreneurship support service sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry with the goal of promoting entrepreneurship. He also worked at Recruit where he supported company recruitment, organizational revitalization, municipal development, and business planning. Matsutani is a graduate of Ritsumeikan University.
