The Open Data Science Conference (ODSC) is an organization committed to making data science more accessible. Beginning in early 2014, it has held major data science conferences in Boston, San Francisco. Santa Clara and London. It also hosts numerous meetups, data science for good hackathons, code sprints, and other events to help grow the international data science community.
One of the chief motivations behind starting ODSC was Sheamus’ experience as an accomplished software engineer and architect who recognized that engineering the best possible solution required an open exchange of ideas and insights. He has led teams to design and build numerous financial trading and modeling platforms, in addition to specialized systems for healthcare, education, and advertising.
Over the course of his career, he has continued to be active in the startup community as a participant, advisor, and mentor. He holds numerous degrees including an MS in computer science and a BS in electrical engineering.
